I'll show you

Saturday, December 31, 2016 Sofia Naznim 0 Comments

I'll show you
My life is a movie and everyone's watching
So let's get to the good part and past all the nonsense

Sometimes it's hard to do the right thing
When the pressure's coming down like lightning
It's like they want me to be perfect
When they don't even know that I'm hurting

This life's not easy, I'm not made out of steel
Don't forget that I'm human, don't forget that I'm real
Act like you know me, but you never will
But there's one thing that I know for sure

I'll show you
I'll show you
I'll show you
I'll show you

I got to learn things, learn them the hard way
Gotta see what it feels like, no matter what they say

Sometimes it's hard to do the right thing
When the pressure's coming down like lightning
It's like they want me to be perfect
When they don't even know that I'm hurting

This life's not easy, I'm not made out of steel
Don't forget that I'm human, don't forget that I'm real
Act like you know me, but you never will
But there's one thing that I know for sure

I'll show you
I'll show you
I'll show you
I'll show you

This life's not easy, I'm not made out of steel
Don't forget that I'm human, don't forget that I'm real
Act like you know me, but you never will
But there's one thing that I know for sure

I'll show you

I'll show you

Best to watch in full screen mode with good audio volume

I really love this song. Can't describe further, someday perhaps, but somehow I can really relate with this song. I do understand his feelings through the lyrics. Obviously I'm not Justin Bieber, I'm just a lady named Sofia Naznim.

It's just that I guess many of us do experience as such, especially when people act like they know you, but they never will. Life is not easy and sometimes people forget that we have feelings because we are human. We are not made out of steel. People will never know and keep judging until they know the real story. And I just love how he shows his little story in a way through the lyrics.
Love it.

That's the beauty of art. Some value and learn from it. Some just take it as it is.

I share this at the end of 2016 because I know that some of us might feel this way all the while in life. Just don't be hard on yourself. It's alright, life ain't easy, there will be lots of roller coaster rides, but that's the joy of life. You will learn a lot and hopefully you will achieve in life and afterlife. Just do your thing until you flourish. Don't worry if people act mean and such, they will realize their mistakes someday, somehow.

Life is worth living, love it, live it.

Lots of love,

Cheers towards amazing 2017 roller coaster rides

If you don't keep it clean, then who will?

It has been a major challenge for local residents to strengthen the sanitary conditions in many urban areas in Tanzania.

Do you know the current real state of cleanliness in the city of Mwanza? Let me share with you. :)

The cleanliness of Mwanza has been the highlight of the city for many years, but recently the situation is different. You won't be surprised to see the city is full of random dumps, garbage scattered every corner, and the worst part - nobody cares.

Although the city council has struggled to make efforts to improve the situation, but people are still being insensitive to the importance of cleaning up their areas. A law was introduced for the citizens to have a cleaning exercise weekly which is on every Saturday of each month. However, it is rather disappointing as the percentage of participation is lower than anticipated.

Some of the existing disposal along the markets caused inconvenience towards the traders and customers. This can cause tourist to feel uncomfortable to stay long in the city due to the unhygienic area.

Now who's to blame? We have forgotten that change begins with you. Yes, you!

Perhaps, this problem can be diminished if you and me start to take action.

What are the measures we can take? It is vitally important to Increase the efforts to quickly remove garbage nearby people's homes and along the street (don't forget to clear your homes too). The cleaning exercises should be done by everyone in the city of Mwanza on every Saturday. We should consider using waste container/dumpster in the home area to avoid any garbage lying around the streets of Mwanza.

This effort will help all of us in the community and eventually people in the world to recognize the importance of improving cleanliness and also to eliminate persistent infections generated by waste disposal.

And for the people in Mwanza, this is the Mwanza that we hope to achieve!

7 Ideas to Celebrate your Parties Better

Saturday, December 10, 2016 Sofia Naznim 2 Comments

Hey girls and boys..: D

How have you been? I hope all is good. I wanted to write this article for this year's Halloween but I was too occupied on Halloween. If you are thinking of celebrating Halloween next year, I hope this article can be of help.

We won the Jack - O - Lantern Contest :)
Yeayyy for the team :D

This year I celebrated my first Halloween with my office mates and it was cool.

I was part of the organizing committee and it was fun to handle the F&B, sweets, desserts and pinata. ;D If you intend to organize a Halloween party or any parties, here are some recommendations that you can consider to make your party awesome. ;)

1) Good Food - what is happiness without delicious food

Groupbase Corporation Sdn.Bhd
I ordered Malaysia cuisine buffet dinner with chicken rendang, asam pedas ikan tenggiri, sotong a'la Thai, fried season roll, kerabu seaweed, tofu with oyster sauce, fried mix vegetables, fried meehoon and Chinese fried rice with Malaysian fruits and orange cordial.

The buffet arrangement includes helper and 2 waiters. Price is affordable and the food was good. Their service is great from ordering till delivering the food and serving. The sad part is I didn't manage to eat a lot because I was busy capturing moments. Overall, we were satisfied because people gave positive feedback about the food.

2) Unique Cake - a party cake is a must!

Sofia Bakery
I wish it's my bakery but it's not. I always love this bakery because the price is affordable and the result is always amazing. I ordered a 3D pumpkin looking cake with chocolate moist filling. They delivered it to my office.

The cake was so cute and most thought it was a decor when we place the cake on the table. This is my second order from Kak Nurul. She's just an amazing baker. You guys should try a party cake, cuz that makes your event a bit special than having a normal looking cake. ;)

3) Your Fantasy Pinata - who doesn't like surprises?

Pinata Party KL
I always love pinata since I was small. Finally, after so many years, I managed to get in touch with this pretty and talented paper artist, Diyana. You name it, she'll do it. This time, I have ordered a pumpkin pinata with her. Previously we ordered a beach ball, jellyfish and Pokemon ball (pokeball) with her for our family day event. The kids love it! And this time, the adults love it.

The artwork is intricate and amazing. I filled the pinata with 2 kg of sweets and chocolates and RM 100 cash. Luckily, my team and I managed to hit the pinata and won everything inside because we won the Jack-O-Lantern challenge (pumpkin carving). We shared the sweets and chocs with everyone at the party. The money was split between the 6 of us. It was absolute to feel young again with a cool pinata at a party. ;D

4) Choc and sweets - makes life even sweeter

Tesco
This is easy. Just go to Tesco and you get most of the sweets there. I get mixed flavours or Fruit Plus and sour mentos to make beautiful colour combinations of sweets. I bought some mint, toffee chocs and Cadbury chocolate caramel sweets to make it even more colourful and sweeeeet. I tried to inject some fun and unique sweets like Doraemon sweets and Gold Bar chocs. I budgeted RM 50 and yes, 2 kg of sweets and chocolates, were enough to make everyone go gaga for the night. ;P

5) Party Decor

Daiso and DIY
These two shops are so good especially the latter. DIY is much cheaper compared to Daiso but there are things you can get in Daiso but not in DIY. Sometimes it is the same thing but it is a bit more expensive at Daiso and the quality can be different compared to DIY. Both places are just great to find most of the things that you need. My team got most of the Halloween decor at Daiso and DIY. It's very nice and you can get them at an affordable price.

6) Fantastic Costume - if it's party time, it means it's dress up time

Costumes 'N' Parties
This is new to me. I always buy clothes even for parties, but not this Halloween party, I rented instead. I wanted to buy but they don't sell, only rent. The costumes are all in good condition and the assistants are helpful and nice. It was a last minute decision for me to actually rent a costume because I heard my boss is wearing a costume and I think I should be wearing one too for the fun.

So I ran and rent for the day and yeah, I was supposed to be a vampire but everyone said I'm the little red riding hood. I didn't do the vampire make up so I turn out to be the red riding hood. It was nice to dress up for such an event. I highly recommend this shop. So many awesome costumes, reasonable price and good shop assistants.

7) Good Music

Youtube or your own awesome playlist
Music at a party is a must! Your party is going to be amazing if you have a great selection of musics according to your theme. If it's Halloween, make it spooky and cool. You can also consider to have a dance area and play interesting and the 'in' music to hype the event. You guys can enjoy the party and have fun at the same time.

I hope you get some ideas and where to get your stuff if you're organizing a team event. Not just for Halloween, you can try to engage these recommended people/company for any events. Even if you're not in Malaysia, you can also get some cute pinatas out there to make your event more fun. ;P I love pinatas, but I prefer to keep them rather than hit them. =.=

I would love to know if you can recommend me some awesome place to buy beautiful decor items. Feel free to share this article and your ideas/recommendations too. :)

Luv,
Sofia

Bersih 5.0 - The truth behind the lies

Friday, November 25, 2016 Sofia Naznim 0 Comments

It's time to write this.
I have gone to a demonstration twice, being an eyewitness of the frustration and unhappiness of the people and captured the moments with my lens as the evidence. These people that joined the demonstration are mainly to voice out their rights as citizens.

Many famous media and articles claimed that they are trying to bring down the government, racist and radical which I felt it is wrong at many levels. I feel sad when people twist such things to make benefit other parties, and that's the ugly truth about politics. Unfortunately, it happens around the world and I suppose it will never end, but hope it gets better, especially in the country where we live in.

Who does not want a great leader that really cares for the people? The yellows consist of all races in my country and I witnessed with my own eyes and ears. They bravely shout for Malaysians, not for their own races. They just voice out that they want clean elections, clean government, strengthen the parliamentary democracy, empowering Sabah and Sarawak and right to descent.

Fair demands and they are doing the right way, voice out together, since that's the only way to attract the leaders to really hear what the people really feel. They feel depressed and they are actually representing most of us that do not dare or care less to go down and voice out or some just feel that it is a waste of time.

These people protest because they need a leader that is fair and uphold justice. They need a leader that hear, not fear. It even had reached the point of desperation where some are paid to oppose these yellow fighters. You know who they are. Sadly, when people start to use race and religion issues to divide and separate the people. Some are brainwashed, some are victimized, some just follow the flow and do whatever that brings them fortune.

One day we will lose everything if we are obsessed with money, fame and power. And that's what we do not want from a leader, sink in a pool of dirty money and bring the people in together, sink deeper and never manage to get out.

Maybe there are stories from both parties, the leaders and the people. The people had expressed their real feelings and voice out their demands. It's time for the leaders to step up and share the truth and not the lies-no more. Think about the underprivileged and the children.

We wouldn't want a country that is majestic from the outside but empty on the inside. We don't want our children to grow up in a dangerous and corrupted environment. It's time for us to realise that even if you want to live as wealthy as you want, the wealth can disappear anytime, and the only wealth that a leader really has is its people-while it still lasts.

P.s. I wore rainbow bangles and colourful attires represent the unity of everyone - the rights of humanity and people all over the world. In case if you saw me outside that day and wondered about this crazy colourful lady. There are pictures of my hand as a sign of peace and solidarity. May we achieve it, soon.

In case you do not feel appreciated, this is for you :)

How do you feel when you work so hard and you did everything you could for something but you are not being appreciated and recognized for what you have done?

You feel sad. You feel demotivated. There’s part in you fill with angriness and hatred.

The worst, there’s this sorrow that make you don’t trust and not interested to do more anymore like what you did before.

Why feel that way? You have the right to feel such way. But should you let it consume you? Let it take over your life and make you feel worst day by day? NO.

Related image

It’s normal to feel as such when people you trust don’t appreciate you. They forgot about what you have done. They forgot about how well you treated them. They forgot about all the pain that you have endured to help them when they needed the most. You know what? That’s people.

People forgot. People just being people-human, tend to forgot things, especially when they get something new, replacing the old things, it will be like-completely forgot. Perhaps when people need you last time, it is because for their own benefits, not really about helping, wanted, or giving you opportunities-like how you thought it will be.

Feel the pain for a moment. Do something that will make you feel better again.

If it’s workplace, be professional and just let it be. You know what kind of person you are dealing with. Avoid dramas, just do your part. If they are trying to use you again, stand up for your right, try to avoid people who use other people for their own interest. If you can’t, change departments. If the problem still persist and interrupt your daily life, you should try to consider and look for another job.

Be tough, not because you don’t stay, but because you deserve to be treated better than you were treated before, and find it elsewhere. Obviously, this is normal and will happen many times in life and can happen anywhere, no matter where you work or live. But you should never tie yourself to a chair and let anyone spin you non-stop and not be able to free yourself from such bullies.

If you faced many bullies in your life, ask you to do this and do that but in the end they did not appreciate and recognize you, don’t do anything for them anymore. Do something for yourself, free yourself from this kind of people. They ask you to do a lot of things because you are capable and trusted, but after getting what they want, they ditch you. That is bad.

Be a leader, not a boss. Be human, and have a heart. Be appreciative, not superficial. Recognize, not make people cry, and jeopardize people’s life. Try your best to appreciate people around you. try your best not to feel down or emotional unless people are being mean, you deserve to feel what you feel.

You just have to stay strong and be positive. Don’t hope for anything, but if you deserve something, if it doesn’t happen, it will happen someday when you least expect. Be close to people that really care for you and be there no matter what. Appreciate them and love them hard. You will feel happy.

Oh, and the bullies don’t deserve you, at all. J

Monday, October 10, 2016 Sofia Naznim 0 Comments

Image result for anak

Maaf, bukan semua.

Bukan semua, bukan majoriti, tetapi sesetengah, segelintir.

Baru kahwin
  • ·         “Dah ada isi belum?”
  • ·         “Dah tambah sorang lagi belum?”
  • ·         “Dah ada rezeki?”
  • ·         “Bila nak ada ‘your name’ Junior”
  • ·         “Tak sabar ni nak tengok anak you all, nanti mesti cantik, etc…”

Okay, soalan-soalan ni sangat standard dan common. Depends, some people okay with it, some people are not. Maybe lenggok tanya tu kena betul supaya bunyi tak macam emosi yang keruan sekiranya menyentuh peribadi dan privasi seseorang.

Dah lama kahwin tetapi belum menimang cahaya mata
  • ·         “Belum ada anak lagi?”
  • ·         “Bila you nak ada anak”
  • ·         “Lambatnya you nak ada anak”

The list can become longer than this. Do share with me apa common questions yang orang suka tanya in the comment box below the article for knowledge sharing. ;)

Kenapa orang suka tanya soalan-soalan macam kat atas. Banyak sebab.

Image result for Empathy

Fikir-fikirkanlah.

Image result for anak

Image result for anak

Image result for anak

Salam sayang,
Sofia
